New York Fashion Week is just days away, and while your favorite designers, models and beauty brands are gearing up for the runways shows, it’s time for everyone else to step up their street style. Picking out cold weather-ready ensembles is the easy part, but finding ways to change up your hair game when it’s freezing outside can be a different story. Not to worry; we’ve got you covered! Check out three easy hairstyles to try out this season.

Knotted Pony

Perfect for mornings when it’s too cold to pull your hair completely off your neck, take a cue from Loewe at Paris Fashion Week. This knotted ponytail has a messy, bedhead feel with a modern edge. To achieve the look on second-day strands, apply Redken Fashion Waves 07 Sea-Salt Spray to mid-lengths and ends to add texture. Then pull hair back into a low ponytail and wrap an accessory, like a leather tie around your pony and create a bow. Pull out a few face-framing pieces, then finish with Redken Wind Blown 05 Dry Finishing Spray.

Sleek and Straight

Consider stick-straight locks the 2018 equivalent of last year’s “wet” look. The key to giving the smooth style a high-fashion feel? Zero frizz and lots of shine, two things that can be difficult to achieve during the colder months. For best results, start out by applying Redken Pillow Proof Blow Dry Express Treatment Primer to damp locks, then use a round brush to blow-dry. Create a center part, then apply Redken Iron Shape 11 Finishing Thermal Spray. Flat-iron hair in 1-inch sections, making sure to keep the ends straight rather than round them out. Finish with a dime-size amount of Redken Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine Intense to lock in shine and keep flyaways at bay.

Braided Half-Updo

Tiny braids can instantly take any half-up, half-down hairstyle from 0-100. To achieve the look, apply Redken Quick Tease 15 Backcombing Finishing Spray to roots, then tease strands. Next, grab a 1-inch section from the front of your hair and create a fishtail braid. Repeat on the other side, then pull the braids toward the back of your head, overlapping the second braid with the first, then pin them in place. Use fingers to gently pull out hair at the roots, then pull out a few face-framing pieces and finish with Redken Fashion Work 12 Versatile Working Spray.
