The 2025 Met Gala, themed “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” was a visual love letter to Black sartorial excellence, showcasing the power of tailoring as both art and armor.
The dress code, “Tailored for You,” invited a night where individuality reigned supreme, and tailoring became the ultimate form of self-expression. Co-chaired by style icons A$AP Rocky, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, Pharrell Williams, and, of course, Vogue’s Anna Wintour, with LeBron James as honorary chair, the evening placed a particular spotlight on the rich tradition of Black men's fashion as armor—one that has communicated resilience, joy, and aspiration of their culture.
